It is stated, that 'the fundamental activity of entrepreneurship is new venture creation'. (Carland, Hoy & Carland, 1988) However, it is also argumentative, whether this statement should be added with the more specific characteristics as for profitability of this enterprise. This is a dubious aspect, as ventures are initially different, and often entrepreneurship is meant for creation of non-profit enterprise, but in any case the recognition of the opportunity is the basic factor of entrepreneurship and is the start of new venture creation and management. This recognition of opportunity can be recognized through the two different views: a) the opportunity for the formation of a new venture; b) the opportunity for the significant improvement of the already existing venture. One of the most important perspectives of entrepreneurship in venture management is recognition of these opportunities, because on the one hand without this recognition new ventures would not be created or improved, and on the other hand, this recognition is the display of these very entrepreneurial characteristics of the person. Thus, they may partially be equated. However, entrepreneurship cannot be limited to the search and recognition of opportunities. It is of course an everlasting process in managing any new venture, because any action the entrepreneur has to take to improve or change the business is again the recognition of new opportunity for this change and improvement, as well as profitable use of this opportunity. 'Entrepreneurship is the process of identifying opportunities, marshalling the resources needed to take advantage of the opportunities, and creating a new venture for the purposes of providing needed products/ services to customers and achieving a profit.' (Fletcehr, 2006) It is meaningful, that the world 'entrepreneur' is taken from a French verb which is translated as 'to undertake'. The word 'undertaking' is core for defining the essence of entrepreneurship. It means that a person is able and willing to take certain steps on his (her) own initiative for the achievement of the certain set goals. Another perspective of the entrepreneur when managing new venture can be seen through the fact that entrepreneurship involves risks, and the risk of failure for new ventures is especially high. This is why in order to be successful in managing a new venture the entrepreneur should be able to take decisions and to tolerate the conditions of risk, not only surviving in them, but developing and expanding business. Venture entrepreneurship is somewhat different from the innovation entrepreneurship. (Aldrich & Martinez, 2001) While venture entrepreneurship is connected with the creation of the new ventures, and as a result, of new jobs and positive growth of GDP, innovation entrepreneurship will later be discussed in this work and is connected with the improvements made in already existing enterprises. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart This paper discusses Mozart's life, his compositions and his importance to the world and the world of music. It explains how Mozart's music is still some of the most popular classical music played today and his life is still studied because his music is so well known and liked. An Austrian composer and performer who showed astonishing precocity as a child and was an adult virtuoso, musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born to Leopold Mozart and Anna Maria Pertl in Salzburg, Austria on January 27, 1756. Leopold Mozart was a successful composer and violinist and served as assistant concertmaster at the Salzburg court. Mozart and his older sister Maria Anna "Nannerl" were the couple's only surviving children and their musical education began at a very young age. The archbishop of the Salzburg court, Sigismund von Schrattenbach was very supportive of the Mozart children's remarkable activities. By the time Mozart was five years old, he began composing minuets. The next year, he and his sister were taken to Munich and Vienna to play a series of concert tours. Both children played the harpsichord, but Mozart had also mastered the violin. In 1763, when Mozart was seven years old, his father took leave of his position at the Salzburg court to take the family on an extended concert tour of western Europe. Mozart and his sister performed in the major musical centers, including Stuttgart, Mannheim, Mainz, Frankfurt, Brussels, Paris, London, and Amsterdam. They did not return to Salzburg until 1766. During this time, Mozart continued to compose, completing his first symphony at age nine and publishing his first sonatas the same year. The Strain theory could be the cause of digital crimes because the strain of everyday life. The Strain theory is a sociological theory. The strain of an individual’s everyday life is causing people to â€Å"give in† to the pressures in society. Some of these individuals feel that they can’t survive without crime. Strains such as peer pressure, the gain of financial security, and just not being able to reach certain expectations or goals could be factors in the decision in committing a crime.This type of strains can affect individuals or groups in society. Some people turn to crime digital or non- digital if they can’t maintain their living standards by not being able to get money legally (working a job). This is where the digital crime usually fits in when there is a monetary gain. There is so much that can affect an individual’s reasoning on why to choose to commit digital crimes. The social environmental factors, official crime control methods, values & beliefs, psychological, biological, and social factors interact in different degrees on individuals and groups and therefore give birth to the commitment of crime. 2008). In the Strain theory of crime three situations causes strain on individuals or some groups in society such as: 1. Groups/Individuals preventing them from achieving their goals 2. When an individual or group value is taken away from them 3. Some groups present an individual or group with negative stimuli The motivation or goals can be money, status,/respect, or adolescence autonomy from adults. According to this theory if an individual is prevented from achieving their goals then this will cause strain on them nd to restore respect, money or freedom they may use violent behavior, theft, drug dealing and other illegal methods to obtain money. Lower-class individuals are said to commit crimes because they are unable to earn enough money which leaves them financially unstable or insecure. Middle-class and high-class individuals are believed to commit digital crimes because they want to maintain certain lifestyle or because of greed. Greed is a big reason that I believe digital crimes are committed in today’s society. Digital crimes are becoming more common these days because of constant digital or internet access.Negative events such as child abuse, criminal victimization, physical punishment by parents, negative relations with parents, negative relationships with teachers, negative school experiences, negative experiences with peers, neighborhood problems or other life altering events can increase the likelihood of an individual to commit crimes or digital crimes. I believe the Strain theory could be relevant for the cause of digital crimes because crimes is the result of lack of opportunity, in particular economic opportunity. The U. S. nsti lls in citizens a desire for financial success but does not always provide equal opportunity to achieve that success. Therefore, this puts a strain on those who do not have the opportunity. The goal of the U. S. citizens are material wealth. This is what makes white-collar crime exist. Individuals who enjoy a degree of monetary success may engage in instrumental crimes such as money laundering, espionage, or fraud simply because they perceive goal blockage in their attempt to secure ever-increasing wealth. (2008). This is why the Strain theory applies to digital crimes being committed.Some digital crimes are cyber bullying and stalking. Some non-digital crimes could be murder, burglary, or robbery. Finally, while there are many factors that cause an individual or group to commit digital crimes. The main theory is the economic success of wealth that is said to be the focus of digital crimes. While there are other factors such as anger, depression, frustration, or fear, I believe the most common to be wealth. I feel that digital crimes need to be addressed immediately and focused on so that the U. S. can deter or stop this criminal activity.A person’s life can be changed with the stroke of a computer key and this is devastating for the victims. Unfortunately, digital crimes are on the rise but they can be decreased with certain security measures taken. Criminals have so many opportunities to commit crimes and this has got to be stopped. Keri Yokoyama February 6, 2012 Social Studies Funk Queen of Manoa! Guess who was one of the most popular people in Manoa? Queen Elizabeth Kaahumanu of course! Kaahumanu was one of the most famous residents of all Manoa. She was famous because she made a big impact on Manoa! She was also the wife of Kamehameha; in fact, she was one of Kamehameha’s favorite (out of twenty-one! ). In this article, I will tell you all about Queen Elizabeth Kaahumanu and her impact on the Manoa Community. In upper Manoa, she had a summerhouse. Its name was Ka Puka’oma’omao, meaning â€Å"the green gate. This makes sense because her house had a green gate and green shutters. The house had a blend of Polynesian and Western styles. In the book â€Å"Manoa: the story of a valley,† it says that the roof was probably thatched or peaked. (They don’t know but they are pretty sure it was. ) Kaahumanu had many friends and invited them to her summerhouse. Her house became a popula r place to visit. The house is not there today, but the land that it was on is still there with nothing on it. If you go to Manoa Road and Oahu Avenue, there is a green overgrown path that leads to a tiny clearing covered with old hau trees.Keep going on the path and you will find the land that Kaahumanu’s house, Ka Puka’oma’omao, was on. Kaahumanu was also known for a fresh water well. Her well was located close to her home. It was on Huelani Drive. The name of Kaahumanu’s fresh water well was Kawaihuelani, meaning â€Å"The waters of Huelani. † People believe that mo’owahine, meaning, â€Å" Part-lizard, part-woman being† is the guardian of the well. Kaahumanu also made a difference to one school in particular, Punahou School. Kaahumanu ordered/suggested Boki (Oahu’s governor) and his wife, Kuini Liliha, to give the land of Kapunahou to Reverend and Mrs.Hiram Bingham. From there, they built a school, which became Punahou Scho ol. That is how Punahou came to be. After catching an illness coming back from a trip, Kaahumanu asked to be taken to her home in the mountains. She died in her home in Manoa. Manoa was a place she loved so that's why she came back to visit one last time before her death. I hope you learned a lot about Kaahumanu and her impact on Manoa.
